The Oregon Equestrian Trails web site has received a face lift, www.oregonequestriantrails.org. The new look includes a more modern look and support for all sizes of devices. You can view the web site on your smart phone, small tablets and of course your PC/MAC and the page will automatically shift things around to make them fit and still be readable. There is no longer a need to zoom and pan around to view our web.
The content of pages has been divided into groups of information to make them easier to display on both small and larger displays. On small devices the Home page has 6 navigation buttons in place of the changing image banner and menu system included on larger screens. On small screens touch the 3 bars icon in the upper left to open the small screen menu. Simple swipe you finger up to scroll through the rest of the page of each page and read its content and view pictures.
On larger displays the home page includes a full menu to navigate around and a image slider with slide up messaging summarizing , our mission, our chapters, making a difference, member benefits and the OET story for the last 45 years. Clicking any one of the 5 messaging banners takes you to more information.
We are continuing with our on-line Calendar as before but it includes a new “poster board” view to make it easier to find events and rides and display on a smart phone. You can even use the search box at the top of each page to find specific events and dates. As before the events are entered by your chapter leaders through an assigned Gmail user account. If you notice dates are missing please contact your Chapter Chair.
We now include a page explaining how you can subscribe to our calender to make it easier for you to automatically have events and dates show on your smart phone, tablet or PC. Instructions are included for 5 of the most popular email, contact, and calendar systems used today i.e. Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, Outlook.com and Microsoft Outlook.
So the next time you are on the web browsing make sure to check out the new OET web site, at the same address as before, www.oregonequestriantrails.org.
Our website is powered by the free open source software called WordPress and can be downloaded from wordpress.org. WordPress currently runs about half of the web sites today worldwide, meaning it is a very popular. We have added a component enabling it to support the multiple size displays.
