About Our Chapter

We welcome all members and visitors to our monthly meetings! We are looking to grow our membership with folks that are interested in helping to keep our trails open for all to enjoy. The Roseburg Chapter meets every second Thursday at 6:30 p.m. January to July and September to November at Abby’s Legendary Pizza Annex Building, 1661 NE Stephens Street, Roseburg, OR 97470. The meetings feature guest speakers, chapter business, trail stories and drawings for gift cards to local farm stores.

We have monthly trail rides during good weather months, a camping trip or two, and an annual Poker Ride at Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park and Campground in Oakland, OR. We also have a New Year’s Day potluck and ride at the North Bank Wildlife Habitat Area near Glide, as well as a holiday potluck and party.

Our work projects include packing and planting fingerling trout in several back country high lakes in the Umpqua National Forest near Diamond Lake in connection with Oregon Fish and Wildlife. We help maintain trail systems at Mildred Kanipe Memorial Park and make improvements at the park horse campground. Every summer we provide Volunteer Camp Hosts for the Kelsay Valley Trailhead Horse Campground in the Umpqua National Forest near Lemolo Lake. We clear a 12-mile section of the Pacific Crest Trail as well as helping to clear and maintain trails surrounding Kelsay Valley Horse Camp and leading up to the PCT and Maidu Lake.

In 2023, the Roseburg Chapter donated a total of 1,832 hours of volunteer work. Those hours, along with donations of travel to locations and equipment use, total a value of $95,996 for the year. A big thank you to everyone that made this possible. We hope you will join us as we continue this work and have fun in 2024!
